Dr. Kaback received his medical degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada in 1970 and completed his internship and residency in ophthalmology at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal. He enhanced his knowledge and surgical training with a glaucoma fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo. Upon returning to his hometown of Montreal, he served as Director of Glaucoma Services at the Jewish General Hospital for 10 years.

In 1984 Dr. Kaback relocated to Albany NY to become Director of Glaucoma Services at Albany Medical College. As Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at AMC he has taught medical students and has trained ophthalmology residents throughout his career. For over 20 years, he has served as the Glaucoma consultant at the Stratton VA Medical Center offering his medical and surgical expertise to our veterans. He has participated as an investigator in numerous clinical trials and has been published in several prestigious medical journals. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, former Chief of Ophthalmology at Albany Memorial Hospital, and actively sits on several committees of CDPHP, a local physician directed health plan.

Dr. Kaback has been happily married to his wife Jean since 1968 and is the proud father of 3 married children and 6 special grandchildren. He is an avid golfer, bicyclist, skier and swimmer as well as an enthusiastic world traveler.
